Practical role of PTI has come to light with the decision of ECP: Liaqat Baloch

LAHORE, August 3 (SABAH): Deputy Emir of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan and President Political Affairs Committee, Liaqat Baloch has said that the practical role of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has come to light with the decision of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

While addressing the Political Affairs Committee, Liaqat Baloch said that martyrdom of Corps Commander Quetta Lt. Gen. Sarfaraz Ali and other officers and soldiers during relief activities to the flood victims in Balochistan, was a tragedy and shock for the entire nation. “Those who were determined to save victims’ lives sacrificed their own lives and that the martyrs were benefactors of the nation”, he added. The Deputy Emir JI also said that Jamaat-e-Islami expressed its condolences to the affected families.

Liaqat Baloch stated that Election Commission of Pakistan announced verdict on PTI’s controversial Prohibition of foreign funding. “The practical role of PTI has become clear that it has no status of ethics, trust, honesty, admitting mistakes and transparent political role”, he maintained. He continued that there was no legal ban on transfer of funds from expats but the problem was there in transfer from illegal and unknown sources. He further added that every year parties submitted accounts’ details to the Election Commission whereas Scrutiny Committee of Election Commission raised objections and parties proved their veracity; but, in contrary, founding member of PTI Akbar Sher Babar submitted objections from within the party itself on the issue of prohibited foreign funding and PTI leadership could not explain for 8 years and used every tactic to escape. Liaquat Baloch noted that the entire nation had become aware that Muslim League, PPP and PTI are not transparent in financial matters and under their control Pakistan’s politics, economy, parliament and social values were not transparent too.

JI Leader emphasized that popular parties always mislead masses by spending billions of rupees in litigation and that it was the masses only who had to reject the fraudulent, incompetent, corrupt, anti-people factions with power of their vote. He further said that owing to internal political crisis in Pakistan, we neither have any policy on Afghanistan, Iran and brutalities of India in the occupied Kashmir nor any timely strategy. “The coalition government and PTI have nothing to do with the national security and public issues and state constitutional institutions are not safe in the hands of political extremism”, he added.

Liaqat Baloch added that the army, judiciary, Election Commission and the civil administration were becoming complacent and suggested that the only solution to the crisis lies in acceptance of constitutional supremacy on the part of the government, political parties and state institutions. He also showed resolve that JI Pakistan would continue its struggle for making Pakistan economically strong and prosperous according to the teachings of Islam.
