Political parties would make a way out by resolving country’s political, electoral crisis through dialogue: Liaqat Baloch
LAHORE, April 17 (SABAH): Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Liaqat Baloch has expressed his hope that political parties would make a way out by resolving country’s political and electoral crisis through dialogue. He thanked Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan for setting up committees to sort out country’s political and electoral crisis at political level.
Liaqat Baloch expressed these views while addressing an aftaar dinner given in honor of former senior army officers by Major Iftikhar Awan. He further said that Jamaat-e-Islami’s delegation would hold meetings with Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, former president Asif Ali Zardari and other leaders.
At this level, he maintained that committee of Jamaat-e-Islami will also hold meetings with committee members of PTI and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). One point agenda of mutual contacts and discussion was to ensure holding of general elections on one day and safeguarding the Constitution of the country. He hoped that political parties would make a way out by resolving country’s political and electoral crisis through dialogue.
He further said that there is a bond of love and confidence between the armed forces of Pakistan and the people, and added that they were proud of sacrifices of army officers and personnel in the form of martyrdoms. He said disorder in the country was worrisome for the entire nation and due to financial crisis, particularly with increase in petrol prices, problems of poor masses, salaried class and pensioners will further aggravate.
In a joint statement of Milli Yekjehti Council, Liaqat Baloch, Allama Arif, Pir Safdar Gilani, Syed Nasir Sherazi, Pir Haroon Gilani, Qari Yaqoob Sheikh and others expressed their grief and sorrow over Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Mufti Abdul Shakoor’s tragic death. They said the late minister was very hardworking and pious pollical leader, while extending their condolence to JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Secretary General Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri and others
