Political leadership should timely resolve political issues: Liaqat Baloch
LAHORE, Nov 21 (SABAH): Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan and Secretary General Milli Yakjehti Council Liaqat Baloch on Monday said that Pakistan’s system can only be stable with enforcing the Quran and Sunnah system and through supremacy of law and Constitution, not mere with desires of leaders and their tall claims and narratives.
While addressing ‘Awami Nashta Programme’ in Lahore, Liaqat Baloch said that if Objective Resolution, Constitution and 22 point presented by prominent scholars were implemented; the environment of national security, national unity and integrity will be created.
He said the economic crises was the result of riba, debts and corruption and continued that freedom has been put in danger in wake not relying on self-dependency as well as not utilizing our own nation and natural resources. He called upon the government to take back appeals against the verdict of Federal Shariat Court and prepare a clear and reliable proper mechanism for enforcing the Islamic economic system. The system of slavery of strangers and oppressive economic institutions is a clear way of destruction as it opposes system of Allah and his prophet (SAWW), he added.
Liaqat Baloch said that long march, train march, sit-in, and protests were part of political history and the opposition always protests against incompetent rulers and oppressive powers and stressed upon the national leadership to learn a lesson from the past history.
He said political leadership should resolve political issues through negotiations otherwise political instability and turmoil will give a way to extra-judicial acts as well as damage democracy and deplored that prevailing political turmoil was also damaging the appointment of chief of army staff. The army, police and civil bureaucracy were being used just for the sake of interests, he elaborated. He said civil and military establishment should not only play only a neutral role but remain totally impartial from political, electoral and parliamentary affairs, adding that political leadership should prove them politically and democratically capable.
Syed Ahsanullah Waqas, Ziauddin Ansari, Khalid Butt, Ahmed Salman Baloch and Amir Nisar were also present on the occasion.
