PML-N & PPP are enjoying power on a fake mandate: Liaqat Baloch
LAHORE, March 16 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Naib Emir and Secretary-General Milli Yakjehti Council, Liaqat Baloch has said that PML-N and PPP are enjoying power on a fake mandate. The continuous increase in the production cost of electricity, oil, and gas is a major obstacle to economic growth and stability.
Liaqat Baloch presided over a meeting at Mansoorah for formulating a comprehensive national policy on Balochistan, as per the directives of Jamaat-e-Islami’s Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman. The meeting was attended by members Maulana Hidayatur Rehman Khan Baloch, Maulana Abdul Haq Hashmi, Syed Farasat Shah, along with Dr. Fareed Ahmed Paracha and Imran Zahoor Ghazi. Additionally, in Lahore, renowned businessman Chaudhry Muhammad Hussain hosted an Iftar dinner in honor of industrialists, businesspersons, political and social figures, and youth.
Addressing these programs, Liaqat Baloch stated that major threats to the federation of Pakistan and public interests are increasing. The state, government, officials, and political elites have become habitual offenders in exceeding constitutional limits.
Due to the weakness of politics, elections, and democracy, the country has practically come under the control of the civil-military establishment, which has become dominant in every aspect. He emphasized that the national political and democratic leadership must play a strong and selfless role in restoring democracy and safeguarding Pakistan’s Islamic ideological identity.
He called for setting national priorities and urged political and democratic leadership to agree on at least a common national agenda, ensuring no deviation from it. The only way to rectify 77 years of mistakes is for political parties to develop a mindset of accepting free, fair, and transparent elections and democratic mandates. He stressed that the greed for winning through Form 47 or any other unfair means must end.
Liaqat Baloch said that Pakistan possesses all the factors and potential for development. Instead of making mere claims, announcements, and opposition, it is imperative to adopt a national role in overcoming political and economic crises, he said. Only through this approach can the country’s future be secured, restoring the confidence and security of its youth.
