PML-N not considering proposal to revisit 18th Amendment or NFC Award: Senator Irfan Siddiqui
ISLAMABAD, Nov 20 (SABAH): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Monday said it was not contemplating to revisit the 18th Amendment or the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award.
“We neither received any proposal nor held any deliberations to revisit the 18th Amendment or NFC Award,” said Senator Irfan Siddiuqi who heads the party’s manifesto committee.
Talking to reporters at the Parliament House, Senator Siddiqui refuted news report published in an English daily suggesting the party was considering such proposals.
“According to my information, this matter has never been discussed in any party meeting, nor has the party leadership given any instructions to the Manifesto Committee in this regard,” headed.
Senator Siddiqui further stated that none of the 31 sub-committees of the Manifesto Committee received any such recommendation.
He added that the committee is receiving valuable input from the masses and various experts for addressing national issues.
These sub-committees are diligently and enthusiastically engaged in their work. Seeing this enthusiasm, the deadline for finalizing the recommendations has been extended till November 30th.
