PM Shehbaz Sharif lays the foundation stone of Jinnah Medical Complex in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD, July 21 (SABAH): Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif laid the foundation stone of Jinnah Medical Complex in Islamabad on Sunday.
Spanning over about 800 kanals of land, the medical center will comprise of modern state of the art medical facilities including treatment for the most complicated diseases of lungs, heart, kidney and cancer.
Addressing the ceremony, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said this will not just be a state of the art medical facility in the entire region and will not only cater to the medical needs of the people of twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad as well as Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir and elsewhere.
He said the Jinnah Medical Complex is not just a hospital for medical treatment but will consist of modern labs and nursing schools where our medical staff will engage in advanced training and research.
He expressed gratitude to Prince Rahim Agha Khan for providing free technical consultancy for this hospital. The Prime Minister said poor people will get free treatment at the Jinnah Medical Complex.
He said first aid emergency wards will be established at the complex with air ambulance facility to fly emergency cases like accidents to the center without any delay.
Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Randhawa briefed the prime minister about the project.
Meanwhile Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar Advocate, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Dr. Malik Mukhtar Ahmad Bharath and National Assembly Members Muhammad Hanif Abbssi, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Raja Khurram Shahzad Nawaz were also present on the occasion.
