PM Shehbaz says a comprehensive package to be announced soon to provide relief to the public in electricity costs

ISLAMABAD, March 23 (SABAH): Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif says a comprehensive package will be announced soon to provide relief to the public in electricity costs.   

PM Shehbaz Sharif was chairing a meeting in Islamabad on Sunday, to review matters pertaining to Power Division.

The Prime Minister said due to reforms in power sector, we will be able to provide more relief to the people in prices of electricity.

He directed the authorities concerned to remove ambiguities among public regarding solarization policy through facts and figures.

The Prime Minister said there is no change in government’s policy on solar energy and promotion of renewable energy remains a priority. 

He directed for expediting the process of privatization of power distribution companies.

He directed to resolve any legal or other matters regarding liquidation of generation companies.

The Prime Minister also directed for improved coordination between the Power Division, Water Resources Division and Petroleum Division for a comprehensive strategy regarding the energy sector.
