PM Shehbaz orders to protect citizens during monsoon rains

ISLAMABAD, July 30 (SABAH): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has directed the authorities concerned to take all necessary measures to protect the lives and properties of the citizens regarding the ongoing monsoon rains across the country.

In a telephonic conversation with Chairman NDMA Lt. Gen. Inam Haider Malik today, the Prime Minister asked to further expedite coordination with the provincial governments as well as those of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. He also asked the Chairman NDMA to assess about the loss of lives and properties caused by the rains.

The Prime Minister instructed to immediately take measures for the restoration of Highways and roads affected by rains and landslides.

He also directed for providing all possible healthcare facilities in the rain-affected areas, besides ensuring the supply of relief items including medicines and other commodities.

Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep grief over the deaths caused by monsoon rains and consequent floods. He prayed to Allah Almighty for the high ranks of the departed souls and sympathized with the bereaved families.

The Prime Minister also instructed to extend all possible medical treatment to those injured in the rain-related incidents.
