PM Shehbaz made difficult yet correct decisions to save the State: Attaullah Tarar

LAHORE, April 6 (SABAH): Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar Advocate has said that Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif made difficult yet correct decisions to save the state. He said that under the leadership of Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, the Pakistan Army has played a crucial role not only in national security but also in economic stability. He stated that we will continue to move forward together to make this country great.

Speaking at a ceremony in his constituency NA-127 in Lahore, Attaullah Tarar said that the people are our strength, and it was with public support that we were able to take tough and correct decisions. “When intentions are sincere and resolve is strong, Allah also helps,” he added. He said that when the government was formed, the country was facing many challenges, and certain elements had risked national interests for political gain. The people are aware that letters were written to block the IMF program. During tough times, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif raised the slogan of “State, not Politics”, he remarked.

Attaullah Tarar said that by prioritizing national interest, they put aside political losses. “Our existence and positions are because of Pakistan,” he stated, adding that under the leadership of Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, the Prime Minister took on the mission of serving the nation and has worked tirelessly to resolve issues.

The Minister for Information said the Prime Minister fulfilled the promise of reducing electricity prices — electricity for domestic consumers has been reduced by Rs. 7.41 per unit. Through hard work, success has been achieved in providing relief to the public, and practical steps are being taken instead of mere slogans. He added that Pakistan’s economic performance is being acknowledged globally — electricity prices have decreased, inflation is now in single digits, and the stock market is reaching new heights. All economic indicators reflect that Pakistan has taken off.

He said that under “Uraan Pakistan”, the country will reach new heights of economic development. For industrial consumers, electricity has also been reduced by Rs. 7.69 per unit. Cheaper electricity will boost economic activity and create job opportunities. The policy rate has come down from 22% to 12%. Attaullah Tarar said that due to economic successes, relief is being provided to the public. “Serving the people is the core and duty of our politics,” he stated. “Thanks to teamwork, the journey of achievements is continuing.” He reiterated that under the leadership of the Army Chief, the Pakistan Army is playing a key role in both national security and economic stability. “We will continue to move forward together to make this country great,” he concluded.
