DERA GHAZI KHAN, Feb 22 (SABAH): Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed the firm commitment to changing the country’s destiny through collective efforts, leaving India behind.
Addressing a public gathering in Dera Ghazi Khan, PM Shehbaz Sharif said the federal and provincial governments are working together tirelessly to lead the country on the path of progress and development.
He said the economy has stabilized over the past year, emphasizing that the goal now is to strengthen sectors such as agriculture and industry to boost exports and create job opportunities for millions of people. He said the electricity tariff will also be reduced to support these sectors.
He also highlighted the reduction in inflation rate from forty percent to two point four percent and policy rate from twenty two percent to twelve percent.
The Prime Minister emphasized that peace is imperative to achieve the goal of development. PM Shehbaz Sharif said we will never forget the sacrifices of security personnel in the war against terrorism.
Referring to the projects implemented in South Punjab, the Prime Minister assured that the region would not be left behind in terms of development.
On the occasion, he announced the construction of cancer hospital in Dera Ghazi Khan and university in Rajanpur.
