PM Shehbaz expresses commitment to collectively steer the country out of immense challenges


ISLAMABAD, July 07 (SABAH): Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated Blue Line and Green Line Metro Bus Service routes on Thursday.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that provision of a regular, clean and punctual bus service is a major step of the incumbent government.

He said that launching of Green Line and Blue Line Metro Bus Services particularly in prevailing economic situation of the country is appreciable and important step of the government.

Shehbaz Sharif directed the relevant authorities to complete all the related facilities of the project including the passenger stations on these routes at the earliest.

Stressing the need for timely completion of development projects, he said that law will take its course in case of any negligence.

The Prime Minister expressed the commitment to collectively steer the country out of immense challenges and said that Pakistan will definitely reach its development destination.

He tweeted, “Inauguration of Green & Blue Lines of Metro Bus Service is great news for citizens of Islamabad & surrounding areas. It’s part of our efforts to provide efficient & comfortable public transport system. It will address problems of traffic load, fuel cost & environmental hazards.”

The Prime Minister also laid foundation stone of the building of Metro Bus Operation Command and Control Centre.

The Green Line Metro Bus Service will run between Bhara Kahu area to PIMS Hospital Islamabad. The 15.5 kilometre long route will have eight stations.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister announced free-travel for one month in these two Metro Bus Services.

The Blue Line Metro Bus Service will run between Koral Chowk to PIMS Hospital Islamabad. The 20 kilometres long route will have 13 stations.

Expressing satisfaction over decrease in prices of petroleum products at the international market, he said it will help bring down inflationary pressures currently faced by the people.

He said that a comprehensive plan is being worked out to shift tube wells, government buildings, hospitals, schools, buildings and households to the solar energy to rid the nation of the expensive electricity currently being produced from oil and gas.

In his remarks, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan said that projects worth 30 billion rupees have been envisaged for the federal capital.

He said that transport service will cater to the urban and rural population of the federal capital. He said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has always given special importance to bring ease and comfort in the life of common man.

Giving details of other initiatives, the interior minister said that the salary of Islamabad Police has been brought at par with that of Punjab police. Similarly, the Frontier Constabulary (FC) has been made anti-riot force after amendments in certain rules to deal with miscreants and anarchists.

The interior minister said that an outstanding amount of 1.22 billion rupees has been disbursed amongst the bereaved families of martyrs and those who died during service.
