PM Shehbaz directs for implementation of relief measures announced by him in NA


ISLAMABAD, April 12 (SABAH): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has issued directions for implementation of relief measures announced by him on Monday in the National Assembly.

He has directed to ensure strict monitoring of Sasta Bazaars during Ramadan-ul-Mubarak in order to ensure provision of quality items to the people at reduced rates. He said no negligence in this regard will be tolerated.

The Prime Minister directed to immediately implement the announcements made regarding increase in pension and minimum wage of twenty-five thousand rupees.

Shehbaz Sharif has also announced to change the office timings. The offices will now open at 8am instead of 10am.

The Prime Minister has also abolished two weekly off days. There will be only one weekly off day in government offices.

Talking to the staff of PM Office, the Prime Minister said we have come to serve the masses and no moment will be wasted. He said honesty, transparency, diligence and hard work are our guiding principles.

Meanwhile Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who took oath as the country’s 23rd Prime Minister of Pakistan last night, was presented a guard of honour on his arrival at PM House in Islamabad on Tuesday. He inspected the guard of honour and took the salute.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister also met with the staff of the PM House.

Meanwhile on his first day in office, Shehbaz sent officials of PM Office into panic as his surprise arrival early in the morning worried the employees and officers who had not reached office.

Shehbaz, who is largely known for his punctuality, reached PM Office at 7am on his first day after assuming charge. The officers and other employees of PM Office who had not reached by that time rushed to work to avoid the wrath of the newly elected PM.

Meanwhile Shehbaz Sharif in a statement issued on twitter on Tuesday has thanked Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for felicitations. Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan desires peaceful and cooperative ties with India. Peaceful settlement of outstanding disputes including Jammu and Kashmir is indispensable. He said that Pakistan’s sacrifices in fighting terrorism are well-known. Let’s secure peace and focus on socio-economic development of our people, Shehbaz Sharif concluded.
