PM Shehbaz contacts Nawaz, Zardari to discuss possible dissolution of PA


ISLAMABAD/LONDON, Jan 13 (SABAH): Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held telephonic conversation with PML-N’s supremo Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Co-chairman Pakistan People’s Party  and former president Asif Ali Zardari on Friday and discussed the ongoing political situation in Punjab. 

According to a private TV channel, the three political leaders discussed possible dissolution of Punjab Assembly and the situation which will erupt after it. Nawaz Sharif asked PM Shehbaz to give important directions to the Punjab Governor Engineer Mian Muhammad Balighur Rehman to tackle the political situation in Punjab whereas Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders discussed a strategy to hold the general election in March or April this year.

During his conversation with Asif Ali Zardari, Shehbaz Shairif discussed the political situation after the no-confidence vote episode. The development erupted a day after Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi had signed a summary for dissolution of Punjab Assembly a day after he obtained the vote of confidence from the Punjab Assembly amid ruckus and opposition’s boycott following weeks of political turbulence in the province.
