PM Shehbaz appoints seven PML-N MNAs as his special assistants with immediate effect


ISLAMABAD, Feb 08 (SABAH): Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has appointed seven Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MNAs as his special assistants with immediate effect. Those who have been appointed as SAPMs include Ms. Shaista Parvez Malik, Rao Muhammad Ajmal Khan, Mian Muhammad Moeen Wattoo, Chaudhry Abid Raza Kotla, Malik Sohail Ahmed Khan Kamrial, Chaudhry Hamid Hameed and Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh. All the appointments have been made on pro bono basis. 

According to the notifications issued by the Cabinet Division on Wednesday, the status of all the seven special assistants will be equal to the minister of state.

The notification of appointment of the SAPMs states:

No-3-2/2022-Min-1(i).-The Prime Minister, in terms of rule 4(6) of the Rules of Business, 1973, read with serial number 1A of Schedule V-A of the said Rules, has been pleased to appoint the following, as Special Assistants to the Prime Minister with the status of Minister of State, with immediate effect.

The notification has been issued by Deputy Secretary (Min), Cabinet Division Mariam Mumtaz Butt. The copies of the notification have been sent to all the concerned officials.

After the appointments of seven SAPMs, the number of cabinet member has reached 85. The cabinet members include 34 federal ministers, seven ministers of state, for advisors and 40 special assistants.
