PM Imran Khan says after winning the trust of the lower house, he would turn his gun towards Asif Ali Zardari

KARACHI, Mar 09 (SABAH): With the no-confidence motion submitted to the National Assembly secretariat, Prime Minister Imran Khan announced on Wednesday that after winning the trust of the lower house, he would turn his gun towards former president Asif Zardari.

Addressing charged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers at the Governor House in Karachi, PM Imran Khan claimed that the motion is the “political death” of the Opposition. “I was telling my team that they (Opposition) have done what I was praying for,” said PM Imran Khan while speaking to the party workers during his day-long visit to Karachi — which was aimed at gaining assurance from MQM-P for their support amid the no-trust motion.

“No-confidence motion is their political death,” PM Imran Khan told his workers about the Opposition. The premier said that he was waiting for the “gang of robbers” as they were claiming after “every two months” that the government would be leaving.

“I was thinking somehow their necks come in my hand,” said PM Imran Khan, adding that he wanted the Opposition to submit the motion.

The premier claimed that the Opposition has become “trapped” after submitting the no-confidence motion. He added that he has planned his moves for the future and will not stop once he “wins” the backing of the National Assembly.

“My hands were tied, so far. The shackles that were on my hand will be broken. My first target will be Asif Ali Zardari on whom my gun has been pointing at for a long time,” said PM Imran Khan.

While attacking Zardari, the PM claimed that the PPP co-chairperson commits injustice, steals and takes a commission on everything.

“Asif Zardari your time has come,” said PM Imran Khan. He alleged that the former president roams around with “buckets of money” and has kept Rs200 million to buy the PTI MPAs.

The premier alleged that when one of the PTI MNA’s informed him that he was offered Rs200 million he told the lawmaker to take the money and open a panahgah or orphanage with it.

Calling Opposition Leader in National Assembly Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif a “boot polisher”, PM Imran Khan claimed that he had joined hands with the PPP as he knows that his time is up. “Your time is also here. You know you will be in jail after three months. We will decrease the price of electricity after getting money back from your family,” said PM Imran Khan.

The premier said that Zardari, Shahbaz, and PDM Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman have joined hands with each other not to save the country but to save themselves from him.

PM Imran Khan told his party workers that the government, after winning the no-confidence motion, would take the three Opposition bigwigs — Zardari, Shahbaz, and Fazl — to “Pakistani jails where they should have been for a long time”.

Elaborating on his governance, a visibly happy Imran told the gathering that he was trying to stabilise the country for the past three-and-a-half years and had been carrying out his political struggle against such ‘dacoits’ for the past 25 years. “I am fighting for my country,” said the politically charged prime minister, reiterating that he would not spare the opposition. “My hands which had been chained are now untied. I would not stop when we will win against this no-confidence motion.”
