PM House receives summary from GHQ regarding appointment of Chief of Army Staff  

ISLAMABAD/RAWALPINDI, Nov 22, (SABAH): Prime Minister House has received the summary from the General Headquarters (GHQ) regarding appointment of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC).

According to the sources of a private TV channel, the summary includes names of six senior most lieutenant generals of Pakistan Army. The General Headquarters (GHQ) had sent the summary to the defense ministry and defense ministry has sent the summary to the Prime Minister House.

The summary includes the names and dossiers. The names of Lieutenant Generals Syed Asim Munir Ahmad Shah, Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Azhar Abbas, Nauman Mehmood, Faiz Hameed and Muhammad Aamer are part of the summary.

It is worth mentioning here that Asim Munir is serving as Quartermaster General (QMG) GHQ, Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Commander X Corps, Rawalpindi, Azhar Abbas,       Chief of General Staff (CGS), GHQ, Rawalpindi, Nauman Mehmood, President National Defence University (NDU), Islamabad, Faiz Hameed, Commander XXXI Corps, Bahawalpur and Muhammad Aamer, Commander XXX Corps, Gujranwala.

Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Monday had said that the process for the appointment of new army chief has been started and prime minister has sent summary through defense ministry seeking panel of names from the GHQ.
