People of Pakistan & China are in an unbreakable & unshakable relationship: PM Shehbaz

ISLAMABAD, Sep 19 (SABAH): Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has extended his heartfelt felicitations to Chinese people and leadership on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

Speaking at China’s National Day Reception in Islamabad on Thursday, PM Shehbaz Sharif said that it’s a great day and a great event today that we are jointly celebrating the 75th anniversary of our great friend China’s independence. He said we are all very happy to celebrate this momentous event.

The Prime Minister recalled his visit to China in June this year, saying that he was deeply touched by the warmth and very friendly welcome from our Chinese friends. He said the people of Pakistan and China are in an unbreakable and unshakable relationship. He said this friendship is higher than the Himalayas and deeper than the deepest ocean.

Expressing gratitude to the Chinese leadership for supporting Pakistan in difficult times, the Prime Minister said that without Chinese support, it would not have been possible at all to meet IMF conditionality.

The Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s complete support for the Chinese stance on Hong Kong, Taiwan, and other international issues. He said Pakistan is absolutely clear that we will support the Chinese stance without a second thought for all time to come.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said we are entering into the second phase of CPEC, which will be very helpful in transforming Pakistan’s economy, and this CPEC Phase II has huge potential for mutual cooperation in the fields of agriculture, information technology, mines and minerals, and many other important areas of our mutual interest.

PM Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan looks forward to deepening its collaboration with China in areas of mutual interest. The Prime Minister said we look forward to the visit of the Chinese Premier to Pakistan next month.
