People of Kashmir are engaged in a struggle to fulfill their aspirations in the same spirit as Pakistan’s Freedom Movement: Mushaal Mullick
ISLAMABAD, March 23 (SABAH): Mushaal Hussein Mullick, the wife of unlawfully incarcerated senior Kashmiri leader Mohammad Yasin Malik, extended the warmest congratulations from the people of Kashmir to their Pakistani brothers and sisters on the 85th anniversary of Pakistan Day, which was celebrated on Sunday across the country.
In a statement on Pakistan National Day, marked on March 23, Mushaal Mullick, who is also the Chairperson of the Peace and Culture Organisation, expressed solidarity with the people of Pakistan and emphasized that the Pakistan Resolution, adopted on March 23, 1940, stands as a pivotal and defining moment and a significant milestone in the history of South Asia.
The Hurriyat leader stressed that Pakistan, founded on a noble ideology, serves as a great blessing for Muslims worldwide, adding that the people of Indian illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) were also making daily sacrifices to preserve their right to Self Determination. Mushaal MUllick made it clear that no power can weaken the strong cultural, religious, and civilizational bonds between Kashmiris and Pakistan. She reiterated that the people of Kashmir are engaged in a struggle to fulfill their aspirations in the same spirit as Pakistan’s Freedom Movement and their dream of being freed from the clutches of occupation and to live as a free nation will one day come true.
She stated that this historic resolution refreshed and empowered the Muslims of subcontinent, who united under the leadership of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, that provided a framework for realization of the goal of a separate homeland for Muslims of South Asia. The chairperson expressed profound gratitude to the state and people of Pakistan for their unwavering moral, political, and diplomatic support in the Kashmiris’ rightful and just struggle for self-determination.
Mushaal Mullick thanked Pakistan for consistently raising the Kashmir issue on international platforms, asserting that a strong and stable Pakistan is crucial for resolving the decades-old dispute. The Hurriyat leader reiterated that the historic Resolution of March 23, 1940, serves as a source of inspiration for the Kashmiri people that one day the United Nations Resolutions on Kashmir will be implemented.
