People of IIOJK facing existential threat due to rising tide of intolerance in notorious Narendra Modi-led India: Mushaal Mullick
LAHORE, Nov 16 (SABAH): Mushaal Hussein Mullick, Chairperson Peace and Culture Organisation expressed apprehension that people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) are facing existential threat due to the rising tide of intolerance in notorious Narendra Modi-led India.
She made the remarks while chairing a session on International Tolerance Day and Kashmir Cause here at Government College University Lahore on Tuesday. Mushaal Hussein Mullick, wife of jailed Kashmiri Hurriyat leader, Muhammad Yasin Malik, said that the world communities is marking the International Tolerance Day but ironically they are doing nothing to deal with the rising fascist tendencies in India, where life has been made a heal.
The Hurriyat Leader said that Islam teaches kindness and tolerance to its followers to promote a humane society; therefore we need to educate the people about the virtues of a tolerance society. However, she lamented that now-a-days such international days are being observed worldwide but no practical steps and corrective measures are being taken to reverse the tide. “Look Kashmir is burning, children and youth are being killed, girls and women are being rapped and hurriyat leaders are being tortured to death in Modi’s India but the world observes criminal silence,” she added.
Mushaal Hussein Mullick warned that the rising extremist tendency in India could put the regional security at stake; hence the world should take steps on war-footing basis to avert the looming disaster.
Separately, Mushaal was awarded with the Allama Iqbal National Award for highlighting the Kashmir cause vociferously and effectively at all forums. She was given the award by Punjab Governor, Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar at a ceremony held at the Governor House.
Speaking on the occasion, Mushaal thanked the Punjab Governor for awarding her the prestigious award and said that the freedom struggle continues despite India’s unabated state terrorism, as even now Indian Army are even targeting innocent children to deter the Kashmir people to shun the freedom struggle. She vowed that the people of Kashmir would never compromise on the freedom movement and would leave no stone unturned to take the just struggle to its logical conclusion. She said that her husband had been languishing in New Delhi’s notorious Tihar jail and battling for life and death as he was suffering from several ailments. Mushaal demanded the release of Yasin Malik along with all other illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists.
She went to say that after Syed Ali Gilani, Yasin Malik is the only strong voice of Kashmir and Indian fascist government wanted to silence every voice raised for Kashmir.
