People expect Imran Khan to put corrupt people behind bars: Sheikh Rashid

ISLAMABAD, Jan 14 (SABAH): Federal Minister for Interior Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Friday has bashed Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders and said that all the four Sharifs are ‘minus’ from politics.

Addressing the press conference, the minister said that it is upon PML-N supreme Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, if he wants to come back he can, if he does not want to come back he can stay there.

Interior Minister said that the opposition is conducting two long marches at the same time. A historic parade will be held on March 23 that will be witnessed by our Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) guests, he added.

Sheikh Rashid said that the national treasury had been looted so badly in the past that we had no other option but to accept the harsh conditions put by International Monetary Fund (IMF). This government will complete its five years tenure, he reiterated.

Sheikh Rashid further told that Prime Minister Imran Khan will visit China in the coming month. He said that even today, the premier was updated on the wheat price and we are hopeful that we will curb inflation in three to four months.

People expect Imran Khan to put corrupt people behind bars, Sheikh Rashid said.

Sheikh Rashid Ahmad said fencing along the border with Afghanistan will be completed whilst taking on board the new Afghan set up. He said an area of twenty-six hundred kilometres has been fenced whilst the remaining twenty-one kilometres will also be completed.

The Interior Minister said the present government inherited difficult economic situation and due to the loot and plunder of the past rulers, it had to approach the International Monetary Fund. He was confident that the rupee will appreciate against dollar in the days ahead.

Sheikh Rashid said the government will not create any hurdle in the way of two separate marches being organized by the opposition parties. He, however, pointed out that local body elections are being held in the next four months whilst foreign dignitaries will also visit Pakistan in the month of March for the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers meeting.
