Peace & stability of Pakistan, Afghanistan linked with each other: Liaqat Baloch

LAHORE, Dec 15 (SABAH): Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan and former parliamentary leader Liaqat Baloch has stated that peace and stability of Pakistan and Afghanistan linked with each other.

Liaqat Baloch while expressing concerns on rising tensions in relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan, stated that the national political leadership was involved in unattainable political interests while on the other side Pakistan’s security was in danger.

It is a debacle that the government, Parliament and State’s institutions had not reached any agreed foreign policy, he stated, and added that the nation was not given confidence at all. He stated that political instability was converted into a big risk for national security and financial affairs.

He maintained that the masses of Afghanistan gave phased-wise defeat to British, Russia, the USA and NATO forces.

Pakistan bore major losses due to Afghanistan’s law and order situation, Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Liaqat Baloch noted, saying it was a tragedy that Pakistan’s policymakers committed blunders in maintaining ties with Afghanistan.

He further stated that India under the supervision of the US, cultivated hatred among the people of Afghanistan against Pakistan but Pakistani policymakers could not win hearts of Afghan leadership as well as the people. It was vital for Pakistan to immediately recognize Afghan Taliban’s victory, he deplored and continued it was also hour of need that the country had to be supported across the world.

Liaqat Baloch further stated that both the Pakistani prime minister and foreign minister wasted their most of time in foreign visits but did not take any serious initiatives in connection with strengthening ties with Afghanistan and Iran. He said that Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar and Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hameed’s visits of Afghanistan could not prove fruitful for Pakistan whereas peace and stability of both the countries linked with each other.
