Peace & stability in region will come only when US, UK & Europe change their policy & strategy for the Muslim world: Liaqat Baloch

LAHORE, Dec 09 (SABAH): Deputy Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami, President of the Standing Committee on Political, Electoral and National Affairs Liaqat Baloch was met at his Lahore residence by Samuel Raff, Head of Staff, British High Commission for Foreign Affairs and Regional Stability. Dr. Ahmed Jibran was also present on the occasion.

Liaqat Baloch said that peace and stability in the region will come only when the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe change their policy and strategy for the Muslim world. The United States and NATO countries have failed in Afghanistan, let them admit their failure. The United States held regular talks with the Taliban in Qatar. As a result of the talks, Afghanistan was handed over to the Taliban and US forces withdrew. Now it is surprising that negotiations with the Taliban are legitimate and the government is not acceptable! Peace and stability in Afghanistan is the key to peace in the region.

Liaqat Baloch said that the world powers must recognize that freedom cannot be taken away from Muslims by force, strength or arms. Give Afghanistan political support, not just food and medicine. If the attitude of the United States and Europe towards Afghanistan does not change, terrorist organizations will gain strength and peace will be destroyed. It is now an open secret where and under what strategy terrorist organizations are supported. Samuel Raff informed that the British cricket team would tour next year.

Talking to reporters after a meeting of central leaders in Mansoora, Liaqat Baloch said that a peaceful, organized and historic sit-in was going on in Gwadar (Balochistan) under the leadership of Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman. The federal, provincial governments and state institutions have to satisfy the people of Gwadar. The demands of the sit-in protesters are legitimate and based on human rights.

On the direction of Chief Minister Balochistan, a team headed by Chief Secretary Balochistan is working out the details of demands and solutions. Satisfaction is essential for the resolution of the demands of the sit-in leaders. Jamaat-e-Islami will hold protests and camps across the country on December 12 in support of the Gwadar protestors’ sit-in and solidarity.

Liaqat Baloch said that the people of Gwadar are not alone, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman and the sit-in participants have the support of the people from all over the country. Negotiation and peaceful resolution of issues will restore the confidence of the people of Balochistan.
