PDM, PTI govts formed through NRO; duo furthered world agenda: Sirajul Haq

LAHORE, Oct 05 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq has said that Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) governments came into being through NRO and the duo furthered world agenda. If the PTI formed the government in 2018 with the support of the establishment, the PDM adopted the same method in April, he said. Both sides, he added, fulfilled the international agenda, destroying the economy and social values of Islami Pakistan.

Sirajul Haq expressed these views while presiding over central organizational meeting of Jamaat-e-Islami at Mansoorah on Wednesday. The meeting took stock of preparations regarding next elections and organizational performance.

Emir Jamaat-e-Islami said that they will give tickets to honest and competent people and continued the youth will be given preferential treatment in connection with this. He added for the selection of candidates, meetings at division level will be held.

A comprehensive report on Jamaat-e-Islami and Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan’s relief activities in the flood-hit areas was presented before the meeting on which the emir Jamaat-e-Islami expressed satisfaction.

He also advised the volunteers and workers to keep the relief activities continue until the completion of aid activities and appealed to the masses to keep on assisting with their alms.

Sirajul Haq called upon the government to slash petrol prices by Rs 100 per litre as well cut tariff of electricity and gas. He also asked the government to bring down prices of edibles and medicines from 35 to 50 percent.

Inflation has broken record of the half century, he pointed out, and added 90 percent of population is very worried in wake of this situation. He said that dollar price reduced; however, its impacts have not percolated down. He also said that scandal of spurious increase in dollar price by the banks needs to be investigated and who found involved must held accountable.

He expressed concern over the moves to amend the article 62(1)(f) of the constitution, saying Islamic provisions of the constitution are being attacked under planned conspiracies.

Sirajul Haq said the transgender act and law against domestic violence also aimed at destroying the Islamic values of the society. “We will resist the agenda of secular lobbies and continue efforts to transform Pakistan into Islamic welfare state.”

The rulers, said the JI Emir, in Pakistan always acted as tools of secular powers. They also looted the resources of the country, keeping the people deprived and devastated, he said. The three major political parties, he said, failed to deliver despite enjoying power for years.

He said the people had lost faith on the judicial system as the powerful never came under the radar of justice even committed worst crimes but the neck of the poor caught on minor mistakes. He said the country could not move forward without establishing the supremacy of law.

Sirajul Haq asked the PDM government to fulfill the promises it made during the long marches against inflation and decrease prices of daily needs. He said the inflation and unemployment destroyed the life of entire population. He said the JI would continue struggle for the rights of the masses.

Interest-based economy is the root cause of the problems but the rulers are stick to keep it continue instead of Federal Shariat Court’s verdict in this regard and are pleading the Supreme Court to grant them more 20 years to enforce this while arguing national economy cannot be run without the interest-based system.
