Parliament & Constitution are sources of power & responsibilities: Raja Pervez Ashraf

ISLAMBAD, Oct 13 (SABAH) : The delegation of Newly elected body of Parliamentary Reporters Association ( PRA) under the leadership President PRA Usman Khan and General Secretary PRA Naveed Akbar called on Speaker National Assembly & Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Raja Pervez Ashraf.

He congratulated the newly elected body of PRA for holding transparent elections and expressed well wishes for future endeavours of PRA. While talking to PRA Members, Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf said that decision of Supreme Court in Practice and Procedure Act manifested that Parliament is Supreme institutions as it is only source of authority and responsibilities. He said that It is praiseworthy decision as Supreme Court upheld the legislation enacted by Parliament.

He also repelled any chance of individual favouritism in this legislation . He said that the right of appeal is a fundamental right. He also said that Supreme Court’s decision is commendable . He said that all institutions should cooperate with one another to steer nation on the path of development and progress.He also said that Supreme Court is the most important institution and the legislature, executive and bureaucracy are interconnected. He praised the live broadcast of the proceedings of the case in Supreme court.

Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf said that the role PRA is praiseworthy to support democracy, constitution and supremacy of Parliament. PRA President Usman Khan, Secretary Naveed Akbar expressed gratitude to Speaker for his support. Apart from the President and Secretary, Vice President Ahmed Nawaz, Secretary Finance Asghar Chaudhry, Joint Secretary Shakir Abbasi, Secretary Information Javed Hussain, members of Governing Body Asia Ansar, Ayesha Naz, Razzaq Khati, Nader Garmani were also part of delegationat.
