Pakistan’s foreign policy is being further improved: Attaullah Tarar
ISLAMABAD, June 11 (SABAH): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar Advocate has said that Pakistan is a responsible nuclear state and believes in peace not war. He said Pakistan’s foreign policy is being further improved.
Attaullah Tarar was addressing launching ceremony of a report on National Security and Foreign Policy in Islamabad on Tuesday. The Minister said Pakistan wants to improve its ties with neighbouring countries. Regarding economy, Attaullah Tarar said ensuring economic security is one of the government’s topmost priorities.
He said 68 percent of Pakistan’s population comprises youth and we are focused on their technical training and skill development. He said trade not aid is our slogan. The Minister said Pakistan is a huge market for information technology and our IT exports are increasing. He said two Safe City projects have been launched by Chinese tech company Huawei in Pakistan.
He said, “We are a responsible country, we don’t like war. We want peace, our country has been affected 90% by pollution.” He said that Pakistan’s foreign policy is being improved, the Middle East considers Pakistan as an ally, adding we want to promote good relations with all countries. He said our country’s borders are with Iran, adding the Iranian President’s visit to Pakistan was very successful and he agreed to increase investment up to 10 billion.
Atta Tarar said that a high-level delegation of Saudi Arabia visited Pakistan, which is very important for us. He said that Saudi Arabia has also assured Pakistan of investment of billions of rupees for the promotion of trade. He said that the government has focused on technical education and our IT export is increasing, adding it will be our great success to give IT education to two lakh students in China. He said China will provide modern education to Pakistani students in agricultural sector. He said that Pakistan is a huge market for information technology. He said Pakistan’s economy is also connected with IT, we want recovery and stability of our economy, adding Pakistan is moving towards CPEC upgrade vision to create more employment opportunities in the region.
He said that during the visit to China, we also went to the Huawei company and they gave us an offer, they will give free training to 2 lakh IT professionals in a year, which will benefit Pakistan in the future. He said in the meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chinese President Xi Jinping, there was a discussion regarding the port of Gwadar, they are concerned about the security, but Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assured them that the security of the Chinese residents in Pakistan will be more than their own security. Atta Tarar said that because of our relationship with China, Chinese people are being targeted here.
