Pakistanis laud Turkiye’s solidarity during challenging times: PM Shehbaz


ISLAMABAD, Oct 04 (SABAH) A Turkish delegation comprising Ismail Hakki Turunc, Turkish Red Crescent Goodwill Ambassador and Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan Mehmet Pacaci called on Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Tuesday.

Ismail Hakki Turunc offered condolences on the loss of precious lives during the recent floods in the country. He expressed his full support in rescue and relief operations for flood affected people across the country and assured continuous support in their rehabilitation process. The delegation also told the Prime Minister that they are going to visit flood affected areas to witness the extent of losses for the provision of need based relief goods and services.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the gesture and thanked Turkish Red Crescent for showing its solidarity with the flood victims.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that be it the earthquake of 2005, super floods of 2010 and recent floods, Turkiye has always come forward to help Pakistanis. He said that Pakistan is thankful to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Turkish people for sending trains loaded with supplies to the flood affected people of Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that 50 boats sent by Turkiye for rescue and relief operations have helped relocate hundreds of people stranded in inundated areas of Sindh and Balochistan.
