ISLAMABAD, Oct 21 (SABAH): Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Liaqat Baloch on Friday said that only a few selfish and powers-loving people has held the country and the nation hostage with crises whereas countrymen are restless with mounting political instability.
While addressing political workers convention and volunteers of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan in Sialkot, Rawalpindi, Muzaffargarh and Lahore, Liaqat Bloch said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was proud of its popularity while the collation government of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) was a combination of ones with their own interests.
He said that politics is a worship and it is the name of service of humanity and fair use of national resources but the corrupt mafia has dented the face of the politics, and added that there is a need the national leadership adopt the approach of political dialogue for repairing deteriorating economy and making the general elections more free, fair and transparent.

He said the political governments take the measure of local bodies polls on the Constitutional and pubic pressure but over here the greed of exploiting the poor masses and peoples rivalry don’t allow them to do so as for instance Punjab is still deprived of local government institutions whereas the situation was not more different as for as Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were concerned.
He said the democratic governments were indeed not abiding by the Constitution, and added that Jamaat-e-Islami believes in the strong local government system in the federation and provincial systems. To the questions of the journalists, Liaqat Baloch said that political gatherings, long marches and sit-ins were the Constitutional and democratic rights of the political democratic parties as only peaceful protests were indeed power of the masses but regrettably the political leadership and government were seen involved in crushing democratic protests transforming protest into anarchy.
Liaqat Bloch said that week governments do not tolerate protests and revengeful politics does not believe in staging peaceful protests and added that consensus on national priorities was vital for solution of crises faced by the nation and the country otherwise the political leadership will keep continue using the courts for its political motives which will result dreadful consequences.
