Pakistan was facing no external threat but there is threat of political polarization: Maryam Nawaz

LAHORE, Mar 13 (SABAH): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Vice President and party’s Chief Organizer Maryam Nawaz Sharif lambasted on Monday Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, saying the latter had acquired properties for his generations by selling the Toshakhana gifts. She said that Pakistan was facing no external threat but there is threat of political polarization. She said that the youth is the future of the country, adding that when it comes to the country no compromise could be made on anything. She said that no conspiracy will be allowed to succeed against the country and nation.

While addressing an event of party’s young leaguers in Lahore, Maryam Nawaz Sharif took a dig at the deposed premier over the electoral campaign, saying, “Imran Khan says that I (Maryam) have the freedom of staging the electoral campaign but not him. We have faced difficulties for four years but nobody pointed fingers on Imran Khan.”

She lamented Imran Khan did not even reach the house of PTI worker Ali Bilal, also known as Zille Shah. Maryam Nawaz added, “Zille Shah’s mother said Imran Khan’s sons are living abroad but my son has been killed.” Maryam Nawaz said that Imran Khan politically victimized us during his tenure, adding that Imran Khan has made the sons and daughters of the people shied for his own protection.

Lashing out at Imran Khan over the matter of cipher, Maryam Nawaz said, “To play with cipher means to play with the country. I am fully confident that Imran Khan has been launched to worsen the situation of the country. How can you become the premier after you took the country to quagmire in four years.”

Reminding Imran Khan of the qualities of a “true leader”, Maryam Nawaz said, “A true leader always leads from the front.”

She recounted the tenure of PML-N supremo Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, saying, “The country witnessed record growth during the tenure of Nawaz Sharif.” She said that the country needs leadership and need Nawaz Sharif, adding that worst accountability was done against Nawaz Sharif for four years. She said that when court summons Imran Khan, he is used to show plaster but is always ready for holding public gathering.
