Pakistan, UK review the global & regional landscape & exchange views on the security threats posed by terrorist entities
LONDON, Feb 19 (SABAH): The 2nd Round of Pakistan–United Kingdom Counter Terrorism Dialogue took place in London from 17-18 February, 2025. The Pakistan delegation was led by Abdul Hameed, Director General for Counter Terrorism, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the United Kingdom’s side was headed by Kitty Jenkins, Joint Director for National Security, Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
Both sides reviewed the global and regional landscape and exchanged views on the security threats posed by terrorist entities.
The situation in Afghanistan was discussed in the light of the latest international reports and the assessment of the threat emanating from its territory.
The talks included the exchange of best practices in the areas of law enforcement, security, criminal justice, the rule of law, countering financing of terrorism and capacity building to address the emerging trends in terrorism. The discussion focused on the continued bilateral cooperation and potential new opportunities for collaboration in counterterrorism.
It was agreed that the next round of Pakistan – United Kingdom Counter-Terrorism Dialogue would take place in Islamabad in 2026 on mutually convenient dates.
