Pakistan not but govt, leadership fail: Sirajul Haq


ISLAMABAD, Jan 25 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq has said if Jamaat-e-Islami came into power it will lay foundation of loan-free Pakistan and stressed upon the need of restoring confidence of Overseas Pakistanis.

Sirajul Haq expressed these views while addressing Overseas Pakistanis Convention organized by Jamaat-e-Islami’s Department of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday. He said that Overseas Pakistanis could send remittances exceeding $50 billion to Pakistan.

He further said that over 09 million Pakistanis would be issued ‘Mohsin-e-Pakistan Identity Cards,’ and separate universities will be established for their children. He said in view of facilitating Overseas Pakistanis reserved seats will be given to them and continued that special desks will be established for them at Lahore and Islamabad. He said that they would setup jirgas for Overseas Pakistanis regarding the government institutions. If these institutions remained unsuccessful in resolving issues they would be held accountable, he added.

The State will sponsor to orphans and crippled persons exceeding 10 millions, Sirajul Haq noted, and added the government’s barren lands would be allotted to the youth besides free of cost tractors, fertilizers and seeds. He said that Pakistan did not fail but the government and leadership remained unsuccessful and expressed his hope that Overseas Pakistanis will not allow Pakistan to go towards bankruptcy.

Jamaat-e-Islami’s Department of Foreign Affairs Director Asif Luqman Qazi presented 19-points Charter of Demand in the convention on the behalf of Overseas Pakistanis. Representatives from more than 26 countries including British, France, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, Malaysia, Qatar and others participated in the convention.

Sirajul Haq said that problems of Pakistani Diaspora will have to be sorted out and added they were committed to make Pakistan an Islamic and modern country as issued could be resolved only in such a State. He furthered Pakistan could become an ideal country for the world regarding its advancement and prosperity, saying the country was holy for them like a mosque which it was their duty to take it towards development.

Sirajul Haq said that Pakistan was a nuclear State and has a sea of 230 million individuals, 80 million acres land, 65 million skilled youth, five rivers, four seasons, eye-catchy valleys of the world and reserves of gold and coal. He further remarked that over 90 million Overseas Pakistanis were real power of the country and added the country cannot go towards bankruptcy in their presence.

No one can dare to break the country and one day it would become a great country, Emir Jamaat-e-Islami hoped, deploring our rulers were worried just for the sake of few billion dollars. He stressed upon the need of restoring the confidence of Overseas Pakistanis as if they send more than $50 billion then there will be no need of International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank (WB) to the country.

Sirajul Haq said that facing disgrace was not always their fate, adding the housing societies exploited the Overseas Pakistanis as most of such societies had no NOCs. Overseas Pakistanis have to resolve their issues on their own and no one here was serious in connection with sorting out their issues, he deplored. He pledged the Jamaat-e-Islami will make green and loan-free Pakistan where there will be no need of knocking the doors of others. He reiterated his resolve to eradicate the riba system in the country.

Deputy Chief of the JI and former MNA Mian Muhammad Aslam, Deputy Chief of JI Liaqat Baloch, Emir JI Azad Kashmir Dr. Khalid Mehmood Khan, Emir JI South Punjab Dr. Tariq Saleem, former president Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Muhammad Abdul Shakoor and other leaders were also present on the occasion.
