Pakistan needs economical, political stability: Maulana Fazalur Rehman

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Nov 01 (SABAH): Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Chief and Ameer Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Fazalur Rehman on Tuesday said the motif of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif behind paying the ongoing visit of China was to attract big projects of investment to the country.

Maulana Fazalur Rehman expressed these views while addressing a press conference at his residence in the area of Shorkot, in district Dera Ismail Khan. He said that politics of Pakistan was mourning at crossroads and termed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) march a vulgar march, and added they will not allow the nation to be misled by Imran Khan. He said until and unless the end of this fitna they will keep continued to face this Fitna Khan. In the light of interests of the country, Islamic state of Afghanistan should be recognized, he added.

He said that they were in regular contact with the Prime Minister office in connection with badly damaged Chashma Right Bank Canal during the recent disastrous floods and continued that funds had been allocated for its rehabilitation. Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that they were trying to make the canal operational till wheat sowing. On this occasion, JUI parliamentary leader of provincial assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Maulana Lutfur Rehman, Chaudhry Ishfaq Advocate, Haji Abdullah, Ikram Nasir and others were present.

While addressing Maulana Fazalur Rehman said that Pakistan is our country and “we are fighting the war of its survival. Pakistan needs economic and political stability. For this we will not make any compromise. Nation is well aware of the fact that in 2017, political instability was created on the interference of external powers. Imran Khan was creating political and economic turmoil in the country. In the result of worst rigging in 2018, he was imposed as a fake ruler which ruined economy of the country. Such agreements with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) were struck which pushed the country towards mortgage financing. International investment was frozen. Journey of development totally stopped during the tenure of PTI.”

At the time when a high level meeting of Pakistan and China was underway; the sit-ins and marches by PTI were announced, he deplored, and added “we also staged 14 million marches where 1.5 million people were transported to Islamabad but our protest was peaceful. Today armed PTI’s ministers were talking about raiding Islamabad. Long march show has failed. They are changing dates of their arrival at Islamabad. I think they will go back from the way as they cannot take initiative of approaching to the federal capital.”

Maulana Fazl said that the PTI was transporting arms for the purpose of bloodshed for the sake of doing politics on the name of these dead bodies and added this is their politics and democracy. The fundamental element in the country’s politics is that the political stability had become vital in the democratic system, he said, and added only political stability can bring economic stability and then it will result in the supremacy of the Constitution and the law.

Maulana Fazalur Rehman said, “We want supremacy of law and Constitution in the country. We are in contact with bureaucracy of KPK and Punjab in connection with long march. In the morning, Imran Khan misleads the nation about the army with one statement and then bows down before them during the darkness .He said that approval of China Pakistan Economic Corridor’s extension was done from Yark to Zhob and similarly they were in contact with the authorities concerned to sort out the issue of clean drinking water in Tank.

In reply to various questions, he said that in our own interests, Pakistan should recognize Afghanistan after the setting up of government there.  He said, “We are in favour of strong relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Islamic state had been setup there after sacrifices of 20 years. Big powers have admitted that no imposed government could be successful in Afghanistan. Only lack of confidence is proving to be an hurdle in this regard. There should be exchange of information for sorting out the issue of lack of confidence.”

Maulana Fazalur Rehman said they want to clear their reservations regarding Constitution and law. In ECP, there are expert judges but when they announce a verdict is changed by another decision when that case is heard by the court, he said, and added the court was creating confusion as which will ultimately dent confidence of the masses in the judiciary.
