Pakistan is facing natural calamities from last many years: Prof. Dr. Hafeezur Rehman

RAWALPINDI, August 19 (SABAH): President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman has said that Pakistan is facing natural calamities from last many years, adding that one hardship is overcome the next threat stands in front of us. He said that hardships and difficulties are standing in a queue, adding that the nations which face a lot of difficulties prepare themselves for facing these problems and make an effective plan and make themselves strong and active.

Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that Alkhidmat Foundation is registered in seven countries and serving in these countries along with Pakistan, adding that hundreds and thousands of volunteers are our strength. He said that we reached for the help of earthquake, flood affected and coronavirus affectess. He said that during the recent earthquake in Turkiye and Syria, Alkhidmat Foundation’s volunteers reached for the service of the earthquake affectees on the invitation of Turkish government.

This was stated by Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman while addressing the culmination ceremony of the expo organized by National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). On the occasion chief guest of the ceremony Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Chairman NDMA Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik and other guests visited the stall of the Alkhidmat Foundation established in the expo. National Director Alkhidmat Disaster Management Fazal Mehmood and his team briefed the guests about the performance of the Alkhidmat Foundation, especially about the drone.

President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman presented souvenir to Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on the occasion. On the occasion, Vice President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Ijazullah Khan and other office bearers were also present.

Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that Pakistan is facing natural calamities continuously, adding that the fast changing climate circumstances internationally also affecting it. He said that in this situation the government and non-governmental institutions, NGOs and whole nation has to stand in front of these difficulties through an effective planning. He said that for this purpose first thing required is visionary leadership which should unite all the stakeholders, adding that Chairman NDMA has this capacity and vision. He said that Chairman NDMA united all the concerned stakeholders under one roof, which is a welcoming step. He said that all resources and volunteers of Alkhidmat Pakistan are present for brining Pakistan out of natural calamities and difficulties.

Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that this kind of sessions involving all the concerned stakeholders should remain continue, adding that today experts from whole world are gathered here. He said that there is need to organize such sessions and sittings at the provincial, district and local level to create awareness among the community and prepare them to be ready for practical steps.
