Pakistan hands over 1800 MT of wheat as humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan
ISLAMABAD, Dec 30 (SABAH): First consignment of 1800 MT of wheat as humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan by Pakistan delivered on Thursday.
According to statement issued by Foreign Office, on 22 November, the PM announced 5 billion Rs. worth of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.
This was include 50,000 MT of wheat, emergency medical supplies, winter shelters and other supplies. The decision also approved tariff and sales tax reduction on key Afghan exports to Pakistan.
In this context, 1st consignment of wheat (1800 metric tons) has been handed over to Afghanistan at Torkham on 30 December.
