ISLAMABAD, Jan 30 (SABAH): Pakistan has decided to lunch soon the Automated Entry and Exit System at customs stations, ports as well as land route customs stations.
Establishment of the Automated Entry and Exit System at customs stations, ports as well as land route would not only facilitate the international cargo but would also facilitate the international transport for tourists as well as trade. This Automated Entry and Exit System at four customs stations, ports as well as land route would be introduced at 4 border customs stations and with initial success it would be replicated at other border stations and port terminals.
In this regard to a notification issued here, FBR has constituted a 11-member committee comprising additional collectors of customs, to finalize draft of the Memorendum of understanding (MOU) to be signed with the Port Terminal Operators and well as with the Land Customs Stations.
Additional Collectors posted at Appraisement, Port Qasim, Appraisement, (East), Karachi, Appraisement (West), Karachi, Appraisement (SAPT), Karachi, Appraisement (SAPT), Karachi, Enforcement, Karachi, Jinnah International Airport Karachi, Multan International Air Port, Alama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, International Air port, Peshawar, Transit Trade (HQ), Karachi have been tasked to finalize the draft of MOU to be signed with the terminal operator.
The proposed MOU to include, finalize the terms and conditions of the proposed MOU with terminal Operators of their jurisdiction, to ensure maximum favour-able terms and conditions for Pakistan Customs. Getting permissions from the relevant competent authority for facilitating the smooth entry of local and foreign visitors/bidders for hassle free visits of proposed site for scanners installation at respective containers terminal.
Making appropriate arrangements by inviting relevant stakeholders at the time of visits by the prospective bidders for providing them timely information relating to the selected sites.
