ISLAMABAD, Oct 01 (SABAH): Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif says the government stands committed to creating an inclusive society that respects and protects the rights of elder persons.
In his message on the occasion of International Day of Older people, PM Shehbaz Sharif said the government will continue to implement policies that enhance the quality of life of senior citizens, ensuring their access to healthcare, social services and their active participation in community life.
The Prime Minister said senior citizens are the true guides for younger generation to learn from their wisdom and invaluable experiences for creating a more resilient, tolerant and compassionate society. He said our vision is to empower elder members of the society so that they feel valued, their voices are heard and they continue to share their wisdom and insight.
“As we observe the International Day of Older People today, I extend my heartfelt greetings to our senior citizens and acknowledge their immense and invaluable contributions to our society. Our senior citizens are the custodians of our history, the bearers of wisdom and the anchors of our families”.
PM Shehbaz Sharif said that the theme chosen for this year “Ageing with Dignity: The Importance of Strengthening Care and Support Systems for Older Persons Worldwide” manifests the importance of our duty towards protecting the rights and welfare of our older people.

Let us work together to build a tolerant society where every citizen is valued and where our senior citizens are given the care and respect they deserve” PM Shehbaz Sharif concluded.
