Our rulers are more dangerous for the nation as compared to Indian atomic bomb: Sirajul Haq

ISLAMABAD, Oct 22 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq on Saturday said that across the board accountability must be done either it is related to that of Toshakhana or others who looted national kitty. He said all the record of Toshakhana gifts and their buyers must be made public, as the nation was curious about their prices as well as buyers. Sirajul Haq said that our rulers are more dangerous for the nation as compared to Indian atomic bomb.

Sirajul Haq said this while addressing ‘Itraaf-e-Khidmat seminar’ held in honour of volunteers of Jamaat-e-Islami and Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan who were part of aid related activities of flood victims. During the address, he said that gifts given away to heads of State and prime ministers are owned by the State and if someone wants to use them; he ought to pay their total price. He said that those belonging to the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were indulged in hurling accusations at each other while putting deaf ears to the flood victims.

It is worth shying that the rulers were residing at luxurious bungalows whereas the flood victims were dying of hunger on the brinks of the roads, he said, and added that aid received from the other countries was being deteriorated at the airports or the rulers had stored it at their palaces. Despite the passage of two-and-half months, the government framed no plan for flood victims, he added.

Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Sirajul Haq said that rulers handicapped the institutions of accountability and looted the country’s resources ruthlessly and they get irritated with the word of accountability. Today nation’s economy is at ventilator and its responsibility lies with the past and current rulers, he lamented. “Supremacy of law and Constitution must be established. There is need of electoral reforms and national dialogue should be held for remaining away from instability,” he added.

Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Mian Muhammad Aslam, Chairman Alkhidmat Health Services Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman, Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Islamabad Nasrullah Randhawa, President Alkhidmat Foundation North Punjab Muhammad Rizwan, President Central Anjumane Tajran Pakistan Kashif Chaudhry and other leaders were present on the occasion.

Sirajul Haq appreciated the sacrifices rendered by the volunteers of Jamaat-e-Islami and Alkhidmat Foundation who took part in recent flood related aid activities and distributed honorary certificates among them. The way 50,000 workers of Jamaat-e-Islami and Alkhidmat Foundation demonstrated their passion of sacrifice during the floods will always be remembered by the nation, he said, and continued they would have great retribution by Almighty Allah. He said the entire world appreciated aid activities of Alkhidmat Foundation and added that overseas Pakistanis gave major portion of aid to Jamaat-e-Islami and Alkhidmat Foundation.
