Operation Azme Istehkam will actually prove to be Operation Adame Istehkam: Maulana Fazlur Rehman

QUETTA, June 24 (SABAH): Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that the operation Azme Istehkam will actually prove to be an operation Adame Istehkam. He said they have to set a new goal with national spirit which will guarantee the survival of this country and follow the constitution.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman expressed these views during a press conference in Quetta after holding meeting with National Party Chief Dr. Malik Baloch, Asghar Achakzai, Khushal Khan Kakar and Abdul Khaliq Hazara. He further said that there is no writ of the state in the country at this time.

He inquired the results of the operations that have taken place in the past, where do we stand today? He said, “As soon as the sun sets in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the police are locked in police stations, why is the country being further weakened? What is the Apex Committee? When it is at the tehsil level, the major sits there, when it is at the district level, the colonel sits, when it is at the provincial level, the commander sits and when it is at the federal level, the army chief sits there.”

He went on to say, “We are suffering these conditions, I am in touch with the political parties, we have to set a new goal with national spirit which will ensure the survival of this country and follow the constitution.”

Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that political consultation should continue and if PTI has formed an alliance, we respect it. He said, “We have a 300-year history of fighting against slavery, armed organizations are roaming freely, the establishment has to end its hegemony in every sector, we are all equal citizens of this country. On the basis of the identity card on which the army chief is a Pakistani, I am also a Pakistani on the same basis.”
