Only impartial elections could guarantee country’s stability & end economic crisis: Liaqat Baloch

LAHORE, Feb 20 (SABAH): Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami and former parliamentary leader Liaqat Baloch has said that only impartial elections could guarantee the country’s stability and end economic crisis.

Liaqat Baloch expressed these views during NA-127 workers reception and a dinner given in honor of members of Central Election Cell. He said not only establishment or government institutions are responsible for rigging in elections but sometime so-called political leaders are also involved in such activities.

He said that elections of 2024 were rigged giving birth to a new uncertainty and anarchy. He said that only impartial elections could guarantee the country’s stability and end economic crisis.

He said during the elections drive of Jamaat-e-Islami had informed the nation that already tested political groups could give only destruction to the country. He said sometime so-called political leaders are also involved in such activities which may create anarchy and disorder in the society.

He said Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Muslim League and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) took support of political wrangling and so-called narrative, adding now in formation of the government they are again denting political, democratic and parliamentary traditions. He said that elections of 2024 are spurious, rigged and of worst nature like the elections of 2013 and 2018.

Liaqat Baloch further said that they protested against the rigging in the elections in the past and added the protest would be continued against such practices but it is demand of injured democracy that at last process of formation of government should be completed.

He said under Jamaat-e-Islami “Tahafuz-e-Jamhooriat” conference is going to be held on Feb 25 in Islamabad. He said this conference will bring forth the reality of Feb 8 elections and give a mechanism for ending the crisis. He said after 1970 every rigged election proved to be a danger for national security, adding now time has come to make a joint mechanism for impartial elections.

It has become obligation of the whole nation to stop rigging in the elections by establishment and political parties, he said. He further said that Jamaat-e-Islami will continue its struggle for establishment of Islamic welfare system and supremacy of Quran and Sunnah. He said that workers of Jamaat-e-Islami have done hectic efforts against the poisonous polarization during the 2024 elections which will prove beneficial in the future.
