One PTI worker dead, nine persons including Imran Khan injured in firing at PTI’s long march container at Wazirabad
WAZIRABAD, Nov 03, (SABAH): During the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) long march reception camp at Allahwala Chowk in Wazirabad sub-distrcit of Gujranwala, firing took place at Imran Khan’s container in which one PTI worker was killed and nine persons including PTI Chief Imran Khan including Senator Faisal Javed Khan, Muhammad Ahmed Chatta and other party leaders were injured.
The security personnel immediately arrested the person who opened firing on the container of Imran Khan. The name of the arrested attacked is Faisal Butt. Imran Khan was shifted to hospital in bullet proof vehicles.
According to the details, PTI’s long march is currently moving towards Wazirabad and its next destination is to hold a rally in the city, and during march unidentified assailants opened fire on PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s container near the Allah Ho Chowk in Wazirabad.
Due to the firing, nine persons were injured who were immediately shifted to a local hospital for treatment. One local PTI worker was killed in the result of the firing of the incident.
While PTI leader Azhar Mashwani has said that PTI chief Imran Khan is safe while the culprit has been arrested.
Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif while strongly condemning the firing incident at Imran Khan’s container at Allahwala Chowk in Gujranwala and summed immediate report of the incident. PM Shehbaz Sharif has directed Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan to summon report from IG Punjab police and Chief Secretary Punjab regarding the incident.
Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has taken notice of the firing incident near PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s container in Wazirabad and instructed the provincial IGP to submit a report after thorough investigation. “Those behind this incident will be brought to justice soon and the injured will be provided the best medical care,” the chief minister said.
