On current situation of Azad Kashmir, AJP PM Chaudhry Anwarul Haq thanks the role played by President Zardari, PM Shehbaz & COAS
ISLAMABAD, May 13 (SABAH): Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chaudhry Anwarul Haq has said that on current situation of Azad Kashmir he thanks the role played by President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir.
Chaudhry Anwarul Haq expressed these views while addressing an important press conference along with ministers at Jammu Kashmir House Islamabad on Monday. On this occasion, ministers of government, Raja Faisal Mumtaz, Malik Zafar, Mian Abdul Waheed, Sardar Javed Ayub, Chaudhry Akbar Ibrahim, Ahmed Raza Qadri, Abdul Majid Khan, Chaudhry Azhar Sadiq, Sardar Faheem and others were present.
Chaudhry Anwarul Haq said that PM Shehbaz Sharif called an important meeting today which was participated by Kashmiri leadership including all stakeholders. He said the Prime Minister announced a package of Rs 23 billion for giving prompt relief to the people. He said in the light of this package, the government issued notification of giving relief in flour and electricity prices. He saluted to inspector Adnan Qureshi who was martyred during his duty, adding his family will be given relief of 10 million rupees.
Chaudhry Anwarul Haq said that protest was underway regarding subsidy in prices of wheat flour and electricity for previous three days, adding this protest was being done from the platform of Awami Action Committee. He said these demands were justified and added he took these demands to the federal authorities.
Negotiation was done under chairmanship of former interim minister for defence Anwar Ali Haider. On this issue, President of Pakistan played an important role which is why he is grateful to him. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also played his role in resolving this issue as he telephoned from Lahore. He is also grateful to him for playing his role, adding the government is not against peaceful struggle. He said the government demonstrated patience, during the protest one hundred police personnel got injured while one sub inspector was martyred.
