Not only electricity but entire system was faulty: Liaqat Baloch

LAHORE, Jan 24 (SABAH): Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan and former MNA, Liaqat Baloch on Tuesday said here in this land of ours there is not only breakdown of electricity across the country but the same was happening with the governments.

During his meeting with a delegation of Milli Yakjehti Council and Jamiat Ittihadul Ulama, Liaqat Baloch said not only electricity in the country was facing acute shortage but the entire system was faulty. He said the government’s incompetency and mismanagement were giving a bad name to the nation and the country in all spheres of life.

He said that Rs 400 billion losses will cause further destruction for the already sinking economy of the country and called upon the Supreme Court of Pakistan to take suo moto notice of the situation to fix issues in power generation, power supplies and infrastructure across the country. He added silence after such breakdown had become a routine matter.

Liaqat Baloch said that elections of Punjab and KP assemblies were mandatory within 90 days where March 16 had been fixed for holding elections in over 80 National Assembly constituencies and continued this drama of elections was perpetrated by the coalition government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf themselves.

He said that elections would be held just to fulfill Constitutional formalities but they will not put an end to instability in general elections of 2023 after those of 2013 and 2018, stressing upon the simultaneous holding elections across the country to end continuing uncertainty and disappointment surrounding the environment.

Liaqat Baloch stressed upon the national political leadership to keep aside their ego and stubbornness by demonstrating political democratic sprit and develop consensus on the aforementioned matter. He said that religious parties and mosques were Pakistan’s important ideological and cultural powers.

Moreover, he stressed upon the religious parties to develop consensus for safeguarding the country’s Islamic ideological boundaries. Evils of Riba, loans and corruption had destroyed the economy of the country and deplored the rulers instead of taking back appeals regarding interest-based economy, were increasing the rate of interest which will further aggravate the situation of loans of the country.

Liaqat Baloch said that Pakistan People’s Party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Democratic Movement had no plan of putting an end to political and economic crises and continued their stubbornness was proving fatal for the masses whereas Jamaat-e-Islami had a vibrant and reliable plan of action to take the country out of crises.
