No talks are being held with Imran Khan due to his behaviour & the language he uses against state institutions: Rana Sanaullah
ISLAMABAD, Nov 01, (SABAH): Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan has warned that Federal Law Enforcement Agencies reserve the right to thwart any attack on Islamabad by any armed group.
Talking to media in Islamabad on Tuesday, Rana Sanaullah Khan said Imran Khan and his misguided activists are trying to spread anarchy and chaos in the country.
He said the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed that the police and FC personnel would only use teargas and rubber bullets to disperse participants of the long march but according to reports, PTI leadership is accumulating ammunition and armed men to attack the federal capital.
Rana Sanaullah said in view of these reports, federal law enforcement agencies can face a loss and Imran Khan will be responsible for it.
The Interior Minister said the people of Lahore and Gujranwala Divisions have rejected Imran Khan’s long-march as only a few hundreds of people could be seen in the long march.
He, however, urged Imran Khan to shun his agenda of chaos and sit with the political forces of the country to find a political solution of issues. He said Pakistan needs unity not anarchy.
Responding to a question, the Interior Minister said no talks are being held with Imran Khan due to his behaviour and the language he uses against state institutions.
Strongly condemning the statement made by Imran Khan on Monday regarding imposition of martial law in the country, Rana Sanaullah said PTI chief gives irresponsible statements aimed at destabilizing the country.
To another question regarding investigation of Arshad Sharif murder case, the Interior Minister said our team of highly competent officers is in Kenya collecting information related to the case and will present it to the inquiry commission formed for this purpose.
Rana Sanaullah urged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to shun riotous agenda and sit with other political parties to reach political solution.
He said that unfortunately, a certain section has become a victim of Imran Khan’s misguidance as he [Imran Khan] is a victim of madness and misguidance which started with 7 to 8,000 people.
The minister said that the PTI chairman is claiming of bringing sea of people, adding that the people of Lahore have completely rejected the march of fitna, while only 3 to 4,000 people have been left until the march reached Gujranwala.
Taking a dig at Imran Khan, Rana Sanaullah said that the PTI chairman is using abusive language in his speeches during the march, adding that people won’t be betrayed by your madness.
“An investigation is being carried out into Ehsaas program and you all will be caught red-handed,” the minister said and added 8,000 families had been sent money through Ehsaas program during the elections.
The minister said the politics of the PTI leader, whose ugly face had been unmasked by Gandapur’s audio leaks, was aimed at mongering hate and dividing the nation. He said that no political or non-political group would be allowed to damage the economy and stability of the country.
He asked Chief Secretaries of IGPs of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to stand with law and constitution after the clear evidences of planning by a group to assault Capital.
Rana Sanaullah hailed the apolitical role of the armed forces and for its commitment to perform their role as per the law and constitution of the country.
During the next General Election, he said PML-N would be stronger due to lack of support of provincial governments for PTI. He said that the PML-N would get success in next election as there would be a level playing field.
The PML-N led government had to make tough decisions after coming into power because the PTI government put the country on the verge of bankruptcy. He said that tough decisions were critical to put the economy on the right track and PML-N led government would manage the economy effectively in coming days and to provide relief to people.
He said that negotiations with PTI were only possible if its leaders accept the writ of law and constitution, abandon foreign agenda and follow the decency in politics.
To a question, he said that there had been no information about diverting the long march towards Rawalpindi instead of Islamabad.
