No question to hold negotiations with PTI at present as well as future: Maulana Fazlur Rehman
LAHORE, June 5 (SABAH): Ameer Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Monday unequivocally made it clear that there was no question to hold negotiations with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the past as well as in the future. He said ahead of taking any decision about holding elections in the country it was required to see whether new riots were to be allowed or to repair the economy of the country.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman visited the residence of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Sardar Ayaz Sadiq to condole over the demise of his brother Sardar Mahmood Sadiq and also prayed for the departed soul.
On this occasion, while talking to media persons, the Ameer of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl said that date of holding elections will be announced in the light of the decision of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) unanimous decision. “Ahead of taking any decision about holding elections in the country it was required to see whether new riots were to be allowed or to restore the economy of the country,” he added.
Ahead of this, Maulana Fazlur Rehman met with Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in Lahore.
During the meeting, the overall political situation of the country was discussed. The two leaders also held consultation on the next budget.
Minister for Communications Maulana Asad Mehmood, who is also the son of Maulana Fazl, was also present during the meeting.
They held consultation on the next budget for fiscal year 2023-24 and the overall political situation of the country. During the meeting, Fazlur Rehman put forth his suggestions aim at providing relief to masses in the upcoming budget.
