No one will be allowed to take the law into their hands on Eid-ul-Adha: Maryam Nawaz
Lahore, June 16 (SABAH): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif says that no one will be allowed to take the law into their hands on Eid-ul-Adha.
A special meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz. In the meeting, a ban was imposed on throwing animal waste in canals and drains, while a ban was also imposed on the illegal business of roasting meat under Section 144. She ordered to further activate provincial, divisional, district and tehsil level control rooms.
A briefing was given in the meeting that the staff in Lahore will go door to door and pick up animal waste in biodegradable bags. That sale points for animals have been established at 294 places in Punjab, drains and manholes etc. should be protected from littering throughout Punjab. During the meeting, a report was presented on security arrangements at 2600 mosques and 900 Eid places. An order was also given to ensure implementation of SOPs of security arrangements.
Maryam Nawaz instructed to install mist fans and fans in view of the heat in Eid Gahs and said that cameras for monitoring and walk-through gates for checking will be installed. Chief Minister Punjab inspected swings and slides for children in parks. She also ordered that the swings installed in the parks should be regularly checked, adding that the life and property of the people will be protected in any case. She said that no one would be allowed to take law into their hands.
She further said that illegal use of loudspeakers and display of weapons would be banned, fool-proof arrangements should be made for the security of cattle markets, bazaars and provision of sanitation, sheds, clean drinking water in cattle markets.
In the meeting, Senator Pervez Rasheed, Senior Minister Marriyam Aurangzeb, Provincial Information Minister Uzma Zahid Bukhari, Provincial Law Minister Sohaib Ahmed Bharat, Special Assistants Rashid Nasrullah, Zeeshan Malik, MPA Sania Ashiq Jabeen, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Inspector General of Police Dr. Muhammad Usman Anwar, secretaries and other relevant officials attended the meeting.
