No nation could make progress by ignoring rights of labour classes: Liaqat Baloch
LAHORE, May 01 (SABAH): Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami and President Political Affairs Committee, Liaqat Baloch has said that no nation could make progress while ignoring the rights of labor classes whereas privileged classes of Pakistan have always exploited the interests of labourers.
Liaqat Baloch expressed these views through a statement issued on the International Labour Day, May 01 on Monday. He further said the government should announcement its policy for the welfare of the labour classes. He deplored that Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehma was being deprived of his right of bail and added the dual standard of the judiciary puts a question mark before the justice system of the country.
He further said that labour classes have always played an important role in the development and prosperity of nations and added no nation could make progress while ignoring rights of labour classes. He added that the privileged classes of Pakistan have always exploited interests of labourers.
Development in the fields of agriculture and industry is the outcome of efforts put forth by the labourers, he said and added that celebrating May 01 was in fact tantamount to recognizing services of the labour classes. Civil and military governments did not took tangible measures for the welfare of the labour classes, he deplored.
Liaqat Baloch further said that due to flawed policies of the previous regimes, the unprivileged classes were still suffering whereas privileged classes becoming richer with each passing day whereas according to Islamic teachings, one who earns by struggle is a friend of Allah. He urged the government to announce policy for the welfare of the labour class.
