Newly nominated federal cabinet members take oath
ISLAMABAD, April 19 (SABAH): A 34-member federal cabinet took oath at a ceremony in Islamabad on Tuesday.
Acting President and Chairman Senate Mir Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani administered the oath. These include 31 federal ministers and three ministers of state.
Those who took oath as the federal ministers included: Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhry, Rana Sanaullah Khan, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Rana Tanveer Hussain, Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Khawaja Muhammad Saad Rafique, Dr. Miftah Ismail Ahmed, Mian Javed Latif, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Senator Chaudhry Azam Nazeer Tarar Advocate, Syed Khurshid Ahmad Shah, Syed Naveed Qamar, Senator Sherry Rehman, Abdul Qadir Patel, Shazia Atta Marri, Syed Murtaza Mahmood, Sajid Hussain Toori, Mir Ahsanur Rehman Mazari, Abid Hussain Bhayo, Maulana Asad Mahmood, Maulana Abdul Wassey, Mufti Abdul Shakoor, Senator Muhammad Talha Mahmood, Syed Amin-ul-Haq, Senator Syed Faisal Ali Sabzwari, Muhammad Israr Tareen, Nawabzada Shahzain Khan Bugti and Chaudry Tariq Bashir Cheema.
The Ministers of State who took the oath included: Dr Aisha Ghaus Pasha, Hina Rabbani Khar and Abdul Rehman Khan Kanju.
Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif was also present on the occasion. Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, MQM-Pakistan Convener Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, former prime minister and leader of the opposition in senate Makhoodm Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani, former governor Punjab Makhdoom Syed Ahmed Mahood, Speaker National Assembly Raja Parvez Ashraf, Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood and members of the National Assembly and Senate, foreign diplomats and other high officials were also present on the occasion.
Those who did not take oath in first phase include Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Shahid Khaqan Abassi. Meanwhile Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) members also not took oath as cabinet members.
Chaudhry Qamar Zaman Kaira, Engineer Amir Muqam Khan and Auon Chaudhary have been appointed as advisers.
