NCHD has extended the Prison Literacy Program to 51 prisons out of 114 prisons across the country: Mirza Nasiruddin Mashhood Ahmed


RAWALPINDI, April 06 (SABAH): Director General National Commission Human Development (NCHD) Mirza Nasiruddin Mashhood Ahmed has said that NCHD has extended the Prison Literacy Program to 51 prisons out of 114 prisons across the country, enrolling about 1567 learners including 91 female prisoners.

Mirza Nasiruddin Mashhood Ahmed said that this initiative signifies the commitment of NCHD to empower individuals, promote bright future of prisoners and nation through active education especially this initiative NCHD trained literacy staff. With the success of zero budget, NCHD has opened 67 prisons at 51 facilities in Sindh, Balochistan, Punjab, KP, and GB.

Literacy centers have been started which are working on zero budget as envisioned by Mirza Nasiruddin Mashhood Ahmed. Expanding on this success, DG NCHD during his visit to Peshawar Jail visited the inmates. Under the leadership of Mirza Nasiruddin Mashhood Ahmed, NCHD extended the program to 51 jails out of 114 jails across the country, serving around 1567 including 91 women inmates. Learners were enrolled.
