Nawaz Sharif’s return back to the country was linked to his medical clearance; Pakistan would not default: Ishaq Dar
ISLAMABAD, Dec 20 (SABAH): Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Quaid and former prime minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif’s return back to the country was linked to his medical clearance. He said that Pakistan would not face default.
While talking to media persons, Ishaq Dar said that while sitting here in Islamabad, he was taking stock of the current political situation of the country. He said that Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif conducted a meeting with former president of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari. He went on to say that Asif Ali Zardari held a meeting with Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and if the assemblies were dissolved then the general elections could be held within 90 days.
The federal finance minister said that job of the government was to issue the money for conducting elections however added the next elections will be held after holding of the census. He said they were prepared for the elections and they expect winning during the polls; however, date of polls could be announced by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). He added if the ECP announced the date for holding of polls then they were ready for it and added that chief election commissioner would play his Constitutional role in this regard.
Ishaq Dar said that he visited President House on the occasion of birth anniversary of Quaid Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah where much was discussed. He added that prices of dollar and petroleum products clearly declined; however, added they could not repair the destruction of 40 months just in five to six months.
The minister said he did not answer to anyone’s public talk as Miftah Isamail talks much by being analyst which he should not. He said that Nawaz Sharif’s return back to the country was linked to his medical clearance. He said that Pakistan would not face default.
