Nawaz Sharif’s return back to Pakistan is basically tantamount to providing a level-playing field to PML-N: Ahsan Iqbal

LAHORE, Oct 31 (SABAH): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhry has said that PML-N supremo Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif’s return back to Pakistan is basically tantamount to providing a level-playing field to PML-N.

While talking to media persons in Jati Umrah, Ahsan Iqbal said that they will field candidates from all the constituencies. He said they are sure that Nawaz Sharif would be given justice and added there is nothing like favor in this regard as it is a matter of providing right and justice.

PML-N senior leader said that dialogue should be continued for strengthening the country and democracy. He noted the politicians as well as PML-N resolve their issues on their own.

Ahsan Iqbal further said that Nawaz Sharif would visit four provinces soon. He was of the view that Nawaz Sharif’s government was toppled with a conspiracy in 2017 but still people of Pakistan love him a lot. From 2013 to 2017, Nawaz Sharif had gotten rid of load-shedding and terrorism, he said. He added now the injustice which Nawaz Sharif faced in 2017-18 should be compensated.

He said the people who want to obtain tickets of PML-N should submit applications till November 10 and continued the country will immediately establish its central and provincial parliamentary board election cell. He further said that today party has also established a manifesto committee in this regard headed by Senator Irfan Siddiqui.  

Ahsan Iqbal said that this manifesto committee would contact with experts of different fields and added Nawaz Sharif has stressed upon the need of giving preferential treatment to provision of justice in the manifesto.  He said that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced to hold elections during the last week of January. He added they are in utmost favour of holding elections forthwith and added they hope that the polls would be held during the period.

He said that the country could not be put on the right economic trajectory unless and until a stable and durable government is established and added strong government is need of time to tackle with today’s situation. He said that foreign investors also wait for the elections which is why the polls must be held as soon as possible.

“We consider that elections would be held during the last week of January; however, it is up to the ECP to announce the date of holding elections in the country. In today’s meeting Israeli oppression was condemned,” he added.
