National political leadership should again initiate negotiation on one point agenda for holding elections: Liaqat Baloch

LAHORE/KARACHI, June 7 (SABAH): Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami and Secretary General Milli Yakjehti Council (MYC), Liaqat Baloch has said that national political leadership needed to again initiate negotiation on one point agenda for holding elections in the country as this is the only way to overcome political crisis.

While addressing the political electoral consultative meeting at Mansoorah and pre-budget seminar of Islami Jamiat Talba at Karachi on Wednesday, Liaqat Baloch said that the accused involved in May 09 incidents should be brought to book at any cost and added the situation could be rectified not through the use of power but national wisdom. He further said that country’s political situation was getting worse as there were threats in constitutional tenure of holding general elections in the country.

The coalition government, Liaqat Baloch said was in distress in wake of its failures at administrative and economic fronts while searching delaying tactics from holding general elections in the country. Due to misuse of power of former prime minister and Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) popularity, civil military establishment gained further power, he deplored, adding that the state’s power use produced negative results in the past as well.

After 1970, he said army establishment did many experiments for governments of its own choice but all of tactics met failure, proving detrimental to national institutions, national security and economic foundations, warning divisions within political groups will bring more dreadful results.

He said that people were rendered half-dead in wake of economic sufferings and added their lives have limited to only pushing the cart of their own lives. He further the public wanted to get resolved their issues.

Liaqat Baloch stressed upon the need of safeguarding the constitution of Pakistan and added all the national, state and political institutions must obey the constitution and law. He emphasized all the stakeholders to hold negotiations for coming out of the crisis as this is the only way to overcome political crisis.
